Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.
We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team. This posting is for an existing vacancy.

POSITION SUMMARY
Job type: Security/Access Control Guard
Reports to: Site Supervisor/Regional Manager
Anticipated start date: ASAP
Posting Close Date: Until filled
Hourly Rate of Pay: $25.90/hr
Hours of work: 0900-1700 (working hours/day 7.5hrs, 30min Unpaid Meal Breaks)
Shifts: Monday - Friday
Location: 130 King St, Toronto, Ontario
Accessible by Transit: Yes
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

Ensure access control policies and procedures are followed and client property is secured
-
Monitor CCTV cameras and alarm systems
-
Maintain positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors and clients
-
Complete site reporting requirements, daily logs and written reports
-
Maintain high standards of personal appearance and deportment
-
Maintain effective communication in English and French
-
Respond to alarms and calls for assistance
-
Provide assistance to employees, clients and visitors
-
Assist Security staff when needed
-
Make sure the Security Desk is always monitored
-
Able to operate a computer with email and Microsoft Office systems
-
Other duties as may be required by the client or site supervisor
REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
-
MUST have valid Ontario Security Guard License
-
MUST have valid First Aid and CPR certificate
-
Mandatory – Must be able to obtain a Level II Secret Clearance (resident in Canada 10 years or longer, clean record, clean credit history)
-
MUST be Fluent in French
-
Must obtain a Enhanced Reliability Clearance through the client
-
The ability to stand for long periods of time and complete frequent patrols
-
Good understanding of computers
-
Customer service/reception/administrative skills
-
The ability to work alone while maintaining a high level of service to the client is essential
