  • Oversee internal network operations including LAN/WAN, routers, switches, firewalls, and backups.

  • Document systems, configurations, and standard procedures to ensure clarity and continuity.

  • Implement updates, patches, and upgrades across environments while minimizing disruption.

  • Apply security best practices to protect systems and data, while supporting frameworks like SOC 2.

  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to one or two team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing IT team.

You might be the right fit if you:

  • Enjoy rolling up your sleeves and solving technical challenges and projects firsthand.
  • Have strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Active Directory, and related ecosystems.
  • Experienced in maintaining secure networks, virtual environments, and internal systems.
  • Think proactively and stay calm under pressure when tackling complex issues.
  • Detail-oriented and committed to documentation and process clarity.
  • Embrace continuous learning and enjoy exploring new technologies including AI tools.
  • Have a collaborative mindset and naturally support the growth of those around you.
  • Are a strong communicator with the ability to partner across departments.

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of progressive IT experience in infrastructure, security, and system administration.

  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft 365 tools, especially SharePoint and Active Directory.

  • Experienced with tools such as Microsoft 365, Active Directory, SharePoint, N-Central, Fortinet, and Sentinel One - or equivalent platforms - used for IT system administration and security management.

  • Hands-on experience with internal networks, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and backup systems.

  • Strong documentation, system audits, and change management experience.

  • Post-secondary education in an IT-related field is an asset.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience supporting internal security programs or audits (SOC2, ISO27001, etc.).
  • Knowledge of remote desktop software and can provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Experience leading cybersecurity training programs and ensuring company-wide cybersecurity compliance.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft certifications are preferred.
