About the role

Education: Bachelor's degree. or equivalent experience. Asset languages: Arabic. Italian. Portuguese. Spanish; Castilian. Korean. Ukrainian. Chinese. Work setting: Legal-aid clinic. Private company, corporation or industry. Private practice. Tasks: Plead clients' cases before courts of law, tribunals and boards (lawyers only). Draw up legal documents and prepare statements of legal opinion. Negotiate settlements of civil disputes (lawyers only). Offer mediation, conciliation and arbitration services. Research legal precedents and gather evidence. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Membership in the Canadian Bar Association. Pega certified professional. Membership in a provincial or territorial law society. Computer and technology knowledge: MS Access. MS Excel. MS Outlook. MS PowerPoint. MS Windows. MS Word. MS Project. MAC. Sage Accounting Software. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Eligible for professional liability insurance. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Tight deadlines. Attention to detail. Large caseload. Personal suitability: Accurate. Excellent oral communication. Excellent written communication. Organized.
