About the role
As a Machine Operator - Wire Processing, you will be responsible for setting up and running specialized equipment according to detailed specifications, including wire types, lengths, and braid patterns. This role will also inspect finished products for quality, document production data, and report any issues. Safety and collaboration with team members are key to meeting production goals and maintaining a clean, efficient workspace.
Location: 40 Consolidated Drive, Paris ON
Dedicated Day Shift: 7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
Job Duties
- Set up and operate wire cutting and braiding machines based on specified wire types, lengths, braid patterns, and technical specifications.
- Cut wires to precise lengths and label or tag them for identification in harnesses or assemblies, following blueprints or work orders.
- Load spools, thread wires through machines, and initiate the cutting or braiding process; monitor machine performance to ensure consistent and accurate output.
- Inspect wires and braided harnesses for defects, uniformity, tightness, and compliance with technical drawings or quality standards.
- Measure braid dimensions and verify against specifications; document production data including batch numbers, wire types, and quantities.
- Report inconsistencies, material shortages, or equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
- Follow safety protocols to avoid electrical or mechanical hazards and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Collaborate with assemblers, technicians, and supervisors to meet production goals and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills and Experience
- High attention to detail and precision in wire processing and quality control.
- Strong understanding of machine operation, production documentation, and defect identification.
- Effective communication skills for reporting issues and collaborating with team members.
- Commitment to process improvement and maintaining production efficiency.
Qualifications
- Experience operating and setting up wire cutting and braiding machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with safety procedures in industrial or electrical environments.
- Physically able to stand for extended periods and handle materials such as wire spools.
