We are seeking a proactive and independent MOA Practicum Coordinator to support our Medical Office Assistant students through their practicum placements and job search journey. This role is ideal for someone with a background in healthcare education and a passion for student success.

Major Accountabilities/Responsibilities (Including but not limited to the following):

  • Guide MOA students through practicum placement processes and employment preparation.
  • Source and build relationships with clinics and healthcare facilities for student placements.
  • Conduct cold calls, eventual site visits and community outreach to secure practicum opportunities.
  • Facilitate practicum orientations and presentations for both Edmonton and Calgary cohorts.
  • Provide resume, cover letter, and interview coaching to students and graduates.
  • Grade practicum submissions via Moodle and maintain employer/student tracking spreadsheets.
  • Support Career Pathways events and job fairs.
  • Serve as the primary in-person contact for Edmonton MOA students and online support for Calgary students.
  • Help achieve the College’s goal of a 95%+ job placement rate.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Medical Office Assistant (MOA), Unit Clerk, or Health Care Aide (HCA) is preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in student support, career services, or healthcare supervision is an asset.
  • Comfortable with technology platforms such as Moodle, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams.
