The Opportunity

We’re seeking a Civil Field Supervisor to join our team in the Fraser Valley supporting civil construction projects across the region.

As a Civil Field Supervisor, you’ll lead a crew on site to get daily work done safely and on time. You’ll work hands-on with a skilled crew in the field, ensuring safety, and efficiency every step of the way. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors, tackling big challenges, and being part of projects that shape communities.

Although we are a union affiliated organization, being an active member is not a prerequisite.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a civil crew to complete daily tasks safely and on time.

  • Must have strong knowledge and understanding of grading and be able to independently set, check, and interpret grades on site.

  • Plan the day’s work and assign tasks; ensure the right tools, equipment, and materials are on site.

  • Monitor work quality and adherence to drawings, specs, and safety procedures.

  • Communicate updates and issues to the Superintendent/Project Manager; request support as needed.

  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and enforce site safety.

  • Coach crew members, support training, and promote a strong safety culture.

  • Perform other general labour duties as required.

Your Qualifications & Skills

  • Approximately 2-3 years’ experience as a Foreman.

  • Minimum 3 years of civil pipe experience in underground utility installation, including deep sewer, water, and storm pipe systems.

  • Proven earthworks experience, and keen understanding of underground utilities.

  • Ability to read and understand design drawings and specifications.

  • Strong leadership skills, and the ability to solve problems and adapt to a changing construction environment.

  • Must have practical working knowledge of the Master Municipal Construction Documents (MMCD) as they apply to on‑site municipal civil construction, including interpreting specifications, standard drawings, and contract requirements.

  • Knowledge in excavation safety, shoring, confined space protocols, and WorkSafeBC standards.

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driver's abstract.

  • First Aid level 2 considered an asset.

  • The ideal candidate should be based in the Fraser Valley.

  • The successful candidate should be a positive, motivated, outgoing individual who enjoys working outdoors, and has a willingness to work overtime when required.
