Carlson Construction Group is looking for a dynamic Project Controls Manager to join our North Vancouver team and help lead the delivery of transformative infrastructure projects across British Columbia.
From major marine terminals to coastal energy developments and complex foundation installations, our upcoming portfolio features some of the most ambitious and impactful projects in the region. Why This Role Matters
As Project Controls Manager, you’ll lead the planning, scheduling, and performance monitoring of projects that are shaping the future of BC’s infrastructure. You’ll work closely with project teams, executives, and stakeholders to drive consistency, transparency, and efficiency across all phases of construction.
What You’ll Do
- Provide governance and oversight for major initiatives like marine terminals and energy infrastructure projects.
- Develop and maintain master schedules aligned with budgets and resource plans.
- Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
- Deliver clear, actionable reports including forecasts, trends, and performance metrics.
- Promote best practices and innovation in project controls.
- Mentor project staff and support training initiatives.
- Review contracts, define scope, and develop WBS.
- Establish schedule and cost baselines using MSP or Primavera P6.
- Load schedules with cost and resources; develop histograms.
- Track milestones, update schedules, and manage change impacts.
- Prepare cash flows and Project Status Reports (PSRs) with EVM and KPIs.
- Communicate trends, variances, and risks proactively.
What You Bring
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in project controls within heavy civil, marine, or industrial construction.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Experience with Earned Value Management and cost control methodologies.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary: $120,000 – $150,000
