About the role
Reporting to the Manager, Communications, the Senior Advisor, Events and Project Management provides strategic leadership and execution of high-impact corporate events, engagement initiatives and complex projects across Covenant. This role is responsible for the design, planning, implementation and evaluation of integrated events and experiences that support organizational priorities, strengthen reputation and enhance stakeholder engagement. The Senior Advisor provides expert project management leadership and strategic advice to senior leaders and cross-functional teams, ensuring initiatives are aligned with Covenant’s mission, values and brand. The position leads complex projects from concept through execution, including developing project plans, managing timelines, budgets, logistics and risk, and ensuring successful delivery across multiple stakeholders and portfolios. This includes coordinating with communications, marketing, clinical teams, operations and external partners to deliver seamless, high-quality experiences. The Senior Advisor is also accountable for establishing and maintaining event standards, governance and best practices, while identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, innovation and impact through the use of digital tools, automation and emerging technologies, including AI. The role supports strong stakeholder relationships, fosters collaboration and ensures all initiatives reflect Covenant’s mission, values and commitment to service excellence. NOTE: This position is based in Edmonton and requires regular in-office presence. Eligibility for a hybrid work arrangement (3 days in office) may be considered upon successful completion of probation. This position is non-unionized.

Required Qualifications:
An undergraduate degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Event Management, Business Administration or a related field, along with 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in corporate event management, communications, marketing, stakeholder engagement or project management within a complex organization. Equivalencies in education and experience may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate demonstrates expertise in leading complex projects from planning through execution, including managing scope, timelines, budgets, logistics and risk. They bring strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Experience providing strategic advice and consultation to senior leaders and cross-functional teams is essential. The candidate has demonstrated proficiency with project management and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Asana, Monday.com, Planner or similar platforms, along with advanced working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications including Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint. They have experience using event management technologies such as registration systems, virtual platforms and engagement tools, and demonstrate the ability to leverage digital tools, automation and emerging technologies including AI to enhance planning and workflows. Strong written, verbal and presentation skills are required, along with proven stakeholder engagement and relationship management capabilities. The successful candidate brings strong critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills, and works effectively in complex environments while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
Preferred Qualifications:
A project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile or an equivalent designation. Event management certification. Experience applying Agile, hybrid or adaptive project management methodologies in complex environments. Experience leading enterprise-level events or large-scale engagement initiatives.
