Mechanical Draftsperson
Where will you work: Onsite – K1, Esterhazy, Saskatchewan
To safely and efficiently carry out the duties of Senior Mechanical Draftsperson in the areas assigned.
What you’ll do?
- Prepare flowsheets, diagrams, general arrangements, and layouts for complete mechanical and structural systems with a minimum of supervision.
- Prepare detail drawings and B.O.M.s for fabrication and construction.
- Design basic mechanical, structural, and piping systems including performance of relevant calculations.
- Obtain field measurements and checks and other information pertinent to preparation of required drawings.
- Perform checking of complex general arrangements and detailed construction and fabrication drawings.
- Use computer programs to assist in upgrading of various reports, cost estimates, data bases, and calculations.
- Perform basic beam stress calculations and selections.
- Perform calculations and selections for equipment v-belt drives, chain drives, and couplings.
- Prepare fabrication and construction freehand sketches of simple components.
- Retrieve, trace, redraw, distribute, and file general engineering documents.
- Diligently adhere to all relevant legal environmental requirements.
- Diligently ensure that all relevant OH&S requirements and in-house safety regulations are complied with.
What you’ll need:
- Successfully completed a two-year Engineering Technology program, including coursework in mechanical drafting, computer technology, and computer-aided design (CAD); or possess equivalent practical experience in these areas.
- Knowledge of materials, complex structures, machine components, industrial equipment, and industrial machinery.
- At least three years' postgraduate drafting experience in related industrial and design drafting.
- Thorough knowledge of current technical drafting standards and applicable C.S.A. and A.N.S. drafting symbology.
- Thorough working knowledge of at least one computer-aided drafting system.
- Knowledge of current technical practice including applicable C.S.A. and A.S.T.M. standards

Mechanical Draftsperson
