REPORTS TO: Senior Director of Sales and Marketing

This position offers a competitive base salary in the range of $80,000–$85,000 plus benefits. Travel expenses related to events, media visits, and partnership activations are covered.

Position Overview

Malahat Skywalk is one of Vancouver Island's premier tourism destinations, celebrated for delivering exceptional guest experiences and showcasing the beauty of our region. As we prepare for an ambitious 2026, we are elevating our marketing to a new standard - and we are seeking a seasoned Marketing & Brand Manager to help make it happen.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Sales & Marketing, the Marketing & Brand Manager is responsible for executing integrated marketing plans that drive monthly visitation, elevate our market positioning, and strengthen community and industry partnerships.

While this role contributes to the development of marketing strategy, its primary focus is the execution and delivery of campaigns based on the strategic direction set by leadership. This includes managing day-to-day marketing operations, overseeing agency partners, leading communication planning and management, and ensuring every initiative aligns with our brand and performance goals.

The Marketing & Brand Manager also works closely with the Business Development Specialist to support B2B-focused campaigns, ensuring trade and group sales activity is integrated into broader marketing efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to)

In this role, you will:

  • Execute marketing plans and campaigns aligned with strategic priorities and monthly visitation targets (KPI: visitation growth).
  • Lead campaign execution for seasonal, annual, and product-specific initiatives across digital, print, email, and experiential channels.
  • Develop and manage email marketing initiatives (Klaviyo or similar platforms), creating segmented campaigns tailored to different visitor demographics and aligned with the destination's offerings.
  • Build and maintain community and industry partnerships to expand brand reach and engagement.
  • Lead communication planning and management, ensuring cohesive messaging across all platforms and channels.
  • Write and edit high-quality copy for marketing campaigns, collateral, publications, and promotional materials.
  • Create and oversee content strategy for organic and paid media channels, ensuring consistent storytelling and measurable engagement.
  • Support the Business Development Specialist with marketing assets, collateral, and campaign coordination for B2B initiatives.
  • Manage day-to-day communication with third-party paid media agencies, PR firms, and publications to ensure timely, on-brand delivery.
  • Oversee creative production, including photography, video, and design projects.
  • Supervise and mentor the Content & Digital Coordinator and seasonal Event Coordinator.
  • Maintain a full and up-to-date marketing calendar with work-backs, deadlines, and accountability checkpoints.
  • Host and coordinate media and influencer visits, ensuring brand standards and guest experience expectations are met.
  • Monitor and report on campaign performance, adjusting execution as needed to achieve KPIs.

Required Experience, Abilities and Qualifications To excel in this role, you should demonstrate:

What We**'**re Looking For

  • 5 years in marketing management roles, ideally within tourism, hospitality, or destination marketing.
  • Experience in a comparable destination tourism environment is a strong asset.
  • Proven ability to translate strategic direction into actionable and measurable marketing execution.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering campaigns with clear ROI.
  • Hands-on experience with email marketing platforms (Klaviyo, Mailchimp, or similar), with a strong grasp of list management, segmentation, and performance optimization.
  • Strong understanding of both paid and earned media, with experience managing agencies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication planning, copywriting, and project management skills.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Comfortable being on-site for key events, activations, and media opportunities.

Work Conditions

  • This is a full-time, on-site position with travel required for events, media visits, and partnership activations.
  • This position requires flexibility to accommodate the needs of the business, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
