This position is responsible for the safe and efficient setup, operation, and support of packaging production lines in accordance with plant standards. The role works in a team environment, requires strong self-direction, and supports department needs during absences or changing production demands. The position consistently upholds company standards for Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate and Set Up Equipment

Set up, operate, and adjust filling, capping, labeling, coding, and packaging equipment and conveyors in accordance with standard operating procedures and production schedules.

  • Maintain Line Efficiency

Replenish materials and supplies, perform minor equipment adjustments, and escalate major malfunctions to supervisors or maintenance to ensure optimal line performance.

  • Perform Quality and Safety Checks

Conduct and document quality checks; follow all ISO9001, GMP, and EH&S requirements; and ensure proper use of PPE, lockout/tagout, and other safety procedures.

  • Clean and Sanitize Equipment

Clean and sanitize equipment and production areas according to SOPs and GMP standards to prevent contamination and maintain a safe, orderly work environment.

  • Support Continuous Improvement

Participate in or lead continuous improvement activities, including root-cause investigations, kaizen events, error-proofing initiatives, and related audits (e.g., BBS, Gemba, ISO).

  • Train Team Members

Train and assist other employees to support consistent operation and knowledge sharing within the department.

  • Complete General Duties as Needed

Perform housekeeping tasks and carry out additional responsibilities as assigned to support production and operational goals.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent. Previous work experience will be considered.
  • 1-3 years of manufacturing experience, chemical experience preferred.
  • Capable of using email, entering data into SAP, Google Docs, and other computer applications.
