Position Summary We are looking for an experienced Elevator Maintenance and Service Technician to perform maintenance, service, and modernization work on elevators and lifts, primarily in residential and low-rise commercial buildings throughout the GTA. This role requires a dedicated professional with technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to safety. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring elevators operate smoothly and reliably, representing the company professionally, and meeting all safety and compliance standards.
Location: Greater Toronto Area (GTA)
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (with potential for after-hours or weekend work, compensated accordingly)
Essential Duties And Requirements
- Perform routine maintenance, service, and modernization of elevators and lifts, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Follow safety protocols rigorously, conducting work safely and responsibly.
- Complete work without shortcuts, ensuring all system checks and adjustments are made for flawless elevator operation.
- Always display professional conduct, using good judgment and courteous interaction with customers, colleagues, and other trades.
- Establish and maintain strong interpersonal relationships with team members, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Perform physical activities requiring full use of arms and legs, including lifting, balancing, climbing, walking, and handling materials.
- Handle work-related travel requirements, including overnight stays when necessary.
- Utilize company-provided phone, tablet, vehicle, and gas card responsibly, parking the vehicle at home when not in use.
- Occasionally report to the office as needed.
Mindset, Skills & Education
- A proactive, enthusiastic individual with a neat appearance, strong communication skills, a willingness to learn, the ability to follow instructions, maintain professionalism in client interactions, and a keen attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Grade 12 education; EDM-A certification (mandatory).
- Minimum 2 years as a Lead Mechanic in elevator installation and maintenance.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record, bondable.
- Ability to perform physically demanding activities and lift heavy objects as needed.
Certifications Candidates must provide valid certifications/records for the following:
- EDM-A certification
- CPO-certified "Working at Heights Training"
- WHMIS Certificate
- Worker Health and Safety Awareness Training in 4 Steps ( link )
- Three-year driving record abstract
- Clear criminal record check
