Role Overview
As an Engineering Analyst, you will play a key role in driving continuous improvement within our manufacturing operations. You’ll leverage your engineering expertise to enhance processes, improve equipment performance, and lead capital projects from concept through implementation. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will focus on optimizing cost, quality, safety, and efficiency within assembly operations.
What you'll be doing
- Lead and manage capital investment projects, overseeing budgets, schedules, installation, commissioning, and final buy-off.
- Partner with Production, Maintenance, and external contractors to execute kaizen initiatives focused on cost reduction, cycle time improvements, material flow, and quality enhancements.
- Evaluate, specify, and procure process equipment and tooling, ensuring effective integration into plant operations.
- Monitor process and equipment performance to identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and continuous improvement.
- Troubleshoot and resolve process, quality, and equipment-related issues to prevent defect flow-out.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturing standards, safety requirements, and ergonomic best practices.
- Coordinate activities of external skilled trades and suppliers to support project and maintenance requirements
What you'll bring
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1–3 years of engineering experience, ideally in an assembly plant or automotive environment, with a focus on process design and improvements.
- Strong multidisciplinary background in mechanics, pneumatics/hydraulics, and control systems.
- Proven project management skills and experience with equipment installation or refurbishment projects.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing standards and practices (Machine Guarding, OHSA, PSR, Electrical Code).
- Preferred experience with programmable logic controllers (Allen Bradley, Toyopuc).
- Flexibility to work in Cambridge and/or Woodstock, with potential travel to the USA and Japan, and willingness to support overtime as needed.
