Reporting to the Product Management Supervisor, the Product Manager is accountable for the on-going management of products
and services offered by Manitoba Hydro, such as the Home Energy Efficiency Loan, Fixed Rate Primary Gas Service, Customer
Contribution Time Payment Plan, the Water Tank Rental Program, and compressed natural gas. The Product Manager will enhance
products utilizing research, analysis, and insights of emerging product trends, that meet the evolving energy needs of Manitoba
Hydro customers. As the product technical lead and expert, will play a key role in identifying enhancement opportunities, leading the
development and execution of product strategies, roadmaps, and business cases for existing and new products, and collaborating
and influencing key internal and external stakeholders for alignment and execution of the product strategy. The role will also assist
the Product Management Supervisor in defining the approach, objectives, and strategy for product development at Manitoba Hydro.
This is a term opportunity for a period of approximately 14 months.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead development of product strategies, product enhancements, strategic business cases, product roadmaps, communication

plans, and change management plans to support the management of products and services to Manitoba Hydro customers to
meet their evolving energy needs.

  • Design, develop, and deliver reports and presentations to present status, risks, and opportunities and gain alignment on

product strategies with Executives throughout the enterprise, ensuring buy-in from all interested parties.

  • Conduct market and economic research to assess adequacies, efficiencies, and value of product offerings from a marketing

and business perspective.

  • Utilize customer data, research, and insights, to enhance and evolve product strategies that align with enterprise corporate

strategy, ensuring the strategies deliver on the Corporation's strategic initiatives, as identified in the Corporate Strategic Plan.

  • Lead cross-functional enterprise-wide product teams to contribute, collaborate and align on product strategies, ensuring

products are resourced and prioritized correctly for success.

  • Ensure customer insights are utilized in the enhancements and changes to products.
  • As primary external spokesperson for the product, engage with external stakeholders in private industry and all levels of

government to ensure product strategies are aligned and meet the needs of interested parties and identify opportunities for
when products can be enhanced or improved.

  • Solicit feedback from internal and external stakeholders (including Executives and all levels of government) and incorporate

feedback into the product strategies.

  • Collaborate closely with the Technical Support team within the Department to define and verify technical product requirements

when products are being enhanced or changed.

  • Proactively review, identify, and change customer policies related to the products and services to support a streamlined

customer experience.

  • Collaborate with the Customer Strategy and Experience Department to gather and leverage customer insights that can then

be incorporated into products and solutions that help Manitoba Hydro customers meet their evolving energy needs.

  • Monitor performance of products, identify areas for improvement and lead the product enhancements.

  • Develop and communicate product strategies and road maps that are aligned with the Corporation's strategic objectives.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with external agencies, including other utilities and government

departments and agencies at the national level, for the purpose of meeting Manitoba Hydro's needs in the research,
collection, and exchange of current information on product design and delivery experience, state-of-the art technologies,
identifying customer needs, and input into product improvements.

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to employees within the section as applicable.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Commerce Degree or a four year Bachelor of Business Administration Degree, specializing in Marketing and/or

Finance and a minimum of five years of directly related product management experience.

  • Knowledgeable of the North American energy industry and of emerging energy uses and alternative energy technologies.
  • Be an adaptable team player with a high degree of initiative and possess both strong analytical and business writing skills.
  • Strong understanding of the product management life cycle.
  • Demonstrated proficiency, through previous work experience, of developing strategic business cases, product strategies and

product roadmaps. Relevant experience that focuses on utility specific product management and strategies would be a
significant asset.

  • Proven business acumen, and adept at thinking and communicating in a commercial context to leverage various types of data

to produce product strategies to meet the evolving energy needs of customers, while balancing the priorities of other corporate
strategies.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with peers from many areas of the Corporation.
  • Experience in writing comprehensive business cases, reports, proposals, briefing notes, and preparing and delivering internal

and external presentations.

  • Exceptionally customer-focused and oriented, with outstanding relationship-building skills. A proven ability to effectively build

and maintain a broad range of relationships and at a variety of levels, internally and externally, and to champion customer
conversations in all decisions.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead high performance cross-functional teams in a cohesive manner.
  • Ability to represent the corporation confidently and professionally.
  • Possess a valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.

Salary Range

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $47.22-$65.19 Hourly,
$90,484.68-$124,925.58 Annually.
