As the Director, Corporate Information Technology you’ll lead a high impact team by providing vision and leadership in the execution and delivery of Corporate Digital & IT Strategies – driving digital innovation for the City of Thunder Bay. You will also be responsible for the overall strategic management and direction of the Corporate Information Technology (CIT) Division.

How You’ll Lead & Support Your Team
In this leadership role, you will:
- Be the Chief Information Officer for the City
- Establish and lead a formalized Information, Digital and Technology Governance (IDTG) framework, a function that provides a consistent and integrated approach to technology decision making responsibility within the Corporation
- Oversee the implementation and execution of Corporate Digital & IT Strategies, working closely with the Executive Leadership Team and the IDTG.
- Develop, implement and monitor a comprehensive enterprise cybersecurity risk management program and IT disaster recovery program.
- Facilitate and monitor development and ongoing changes to corporate business continuity plans in collaboration with all departments and divisions .
- Oversee the Corporation’s IT programs relating to asset management, including asset lifecycle management, capital planning, capital renewal, maintenance and repair, and procurement for all assets within the Corporate Information Technology Division portfolio.

What You’ll Bring to the Role
Here’s what will help you succeed as the Director – Corporate Information & Technology:
- Degree in computer sciences or business administration, together with a minimum of seven years’ progressively responsible management experience in the strategic leadership, management and delivery of Information Technology services, preferably in a Municipal or Public Sector; or
- Diploma in computer sciences or business administration, together with a minimum of twelve years’ progressively responsible management experience in the strategic leadership, management and delivery of Information Technology services, preferably in a Municipal or Public sector
- Knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations governing municipal operations as it relates to Information Technology.
- Experience in a management capacity in a large, unionized government or private sector organization
- Experience in business management, business process optimization (BPO), planning, budgets, and finance
