Travel Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Correctional Health | Okanagan Region, BC (Near Oliver) Russell Tobin is seeking experienced Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for travel contracts within a correctional healthcare setting in the Okanagan region of British Columbia. This unique opportunity is ideal for nurses with strong acute care, mental health, and behavioral health experience who are comfortable working in a secure and highly collaborative healthcare environment.
Role Overview: Provide primary, urgent, and mental health nursing services within a correctional setting Conduct patient assessments, monitor health status, and respond to emerging healthcare needs Administer medications, treatments, and nursing interventions in accordance with established clinical policies Support patients with complex physical, behavioral, and mental health needs Collaborate closely with physicians, mental health professionals, correctional staff, and interdisciplinary teams Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation Promote a safe, therapeutic, and culturally respectful care environment Contribute to health promotion, chronic disease management, crisis response, and discharge planning initiatives
Contract Details: Location: Okanagan Region, British Columbia (near Oliver)
Start Dates: Beginning July 27, 2026, with additional openings throughout August and September Duration: 8–10 weeks with potential extension Schedule: Extended rotating shifts based on operational requirements No overnight shifts
Qualifications: Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) registration with BCCNM
Minimum 1 year of recent Canadian nursing experience in acute care, mental health, community health, emergency, addiction services, or correctional healthcare Current BLS certification Strong assessment, de-escalation, communication, and critical thinking skills Ability to work confidently within a secure healthcare environment Additional security clearance and onboarding requirements may apply
Compensation & Benefits Pay Rate: $40–$50 CAD per hour
Overtime: 1.5x applicable rates Holiday Pay: 2x applicable rates Paid Travel Time Benefits Travel & Accommodation: Fully covered for eligible assignments
