Waterside Retirement Lodge is a vibrant and licensed retirement community in Wasaga Beach, Ontario and offers 89 thoughtfully designed suites. Wasaga Beach is located along the southern end of Georgian Bay, approximately 150 km north of Toronto and about 40 km northwest of Barrie. To the west, Collingwood and The Blue Mountains also attract visitors much of the year. The town is situated along the longest freshwater beach in the world, and is a popular summer tourist destination for relaxation and adventure.

Join our team as a Resident Attendant!

Under the direction of the Wellness Manager, the Resident Attendant is responsible and accountable for providing optimum recreation and wellness services in order to promote the well-being of each individual resident.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Resident Care & Observation: Observe, report, and document any changes in residents' health or status.
  • Compliance & Safety: Adhere to all facility policies, safety protocols, and infection control standards. This includes complying with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and participating in mandatory training and safety/orientation programs.
  • Facility Maintenance: Ensure the cleanliness of the lodge, report maintenance needs or hazards, and maintain resident equipment and records.
  • Teamwork & Collaboration: Foster effective communication and collaboration with other departments.
  • Community Engagement: Assist visitors and volunteers, and conduct tours for potential residents.

We are looking for the following qualifications and traits**:**

  • Must possess current CPR
  • Must possess current First Aid
  • Experience with recreational programs preferred
  • Must demonstrate good communications skills
  • Must demonstrate an active interest in ongoing education
  • Prior experience in Retirement Lodge/Gerontology an asset
  • Must be computer literate
