Job Description Primary Function of Position: Based in Canada and reporting to the Sr. Manager 3PL Operations. This position is responsible for implementing and running a Canadian Regional Distribution Center in support of product shipments to Canadian customers and Global Mobility sales events. Manage inventory levels to assure successful order fulfillment, oversee distribution activities to ensure efficient and cost-effective products flow. Manage RMA processes and returns to their respective U.S. sites. Manage relationships with Canadian 3PL, logistics suppliers and other subcontracted service providers. Work with the U.S. Shipping groups in Sunnyvale, Phoenix, Memphis and Peachtree Corners to manage logistics related activities and processes. Work with the Finance team to manage export and VAT records in compliance with local regulations. Achieve departmental and corporate goals associated with logistics functions. Seek for continuous improvement and look for cost saving opportunities.
Essential Job Duties
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (ISI Global Logistics, Customer Service, Sales, Planning, etc.) to ensure alignment and engagement.
- Lead process improvements and cost-saving initiatives across physical and transactional workflows with cross-functional partners.
- Drive financial performance through transactional, carrying, and E&O cost reductions.
- Resolve replenishment material flow issues to the Canadian 3PL distribution center.
- Analyze and negotiate freight forwarder options/logistics contracts to balance cost, delivery requirements, and freight quotes.
- Optimize 3PL workflows and implement process improvements for the Canadian distribution center.
- Secure critical delivery documents (e.g., proof of delivery) for system shipments.
- Support Logistics Planner backup duties: Adjust kanban levels, monitor shipments, and analyze cycle counts to ensure 3PL performance goals.
- Perform SAP transactions and maintain metrics for assigned activities.
- Analyze 3PL QBR/KPI data to identify cost reduction and process improvement opportunities.
- Ensure VAT compliance by coordinating with Finance on shipping documentation and export records.
- Communicate with Customer Service and freight forwarders to align deliveries with installation schedules.
- Oversee the RMA process for returns, resolving issues with stakeholders and ensuring timely material movement, maintaining quality check.
- Coordinate import customs clearance and liaise with brokers/3PL to resolve issues.
- Monitor safety stock levels and warehouse space utilization.
- Support Global Logistics/Compliance teams at HQ as needed.
Qualifications Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:
- Bachelor’s degree, (master’s degree preferred); and minimum of 3+ years of combined work experience in volume Logistics supply chain management environments.
- High degree of competency in analytics tools.
- Highly proficient in MS Office products and ERP systems, preferably SAP and Agile.
- Working knowledge of material pull systems and other lean based material handling principles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Strong interpersonal skill.
- Ability to make effective presentations.
- High degree of competency in analytics tools.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects successfully.
- Solid knowledge of material movement in a manufacturing environment, including import and export requirements, regulatory guidelines, high volume parcel shipments and capital equipment freight shipments.
- Experience in working with freight forwarders to achieve cost goals and customer delivery expectations.
- Experience in the execution of cycle counting, physical inventories, variance reconciliation and analysis of inventory levels and replenishment triggers. Knowledge of kanban systems.
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with little to no supervision.
- Must be innovative, detail-oriented, experienced in highly visible/dynamic projects.
- Experience in solving complex logistical issues both individually and in a team structure.
- Experience in analyzing complex task components to enable excellent decision-making skills.
- Working experience in healthcare industry is preferred.
