We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer with extensive facilities experience to join our dynamic Calgary Flex Projects team. This is a leadership-oriented role responsible for overseeing multidisciplinary engineering execution, ensuring technical excellence, and delivering projects safely, on time, and on budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the engineering scope for facilities projects from concept through to detailed design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
- Manage project engineering teams, ensuring alignment with project objectives, client expectations, and corporate standards.
- Oversee engineering deliverables, schedules, and budgets; proactively identify and mitigate project risks.
- Provide technical expertise and decision-making support across all engineering disciplines.
- Serve as the primary engineering contact for clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry codes, and company quality standards.
- Facilitate design reviews, constructability assessments, and project progress meetings.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Process, or related engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Alberta or eligible for registration with APEGA.
- 7–15 years of progressive engineering experience, with a strong background in oil & gas or industrial facilities.
- Proven track record leading multi-discipline engineering teams on large-scale EPCM projects.
- Strong understanding of project execution in both greenfield and brownfield environments.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software is an asset.
