Your contribution! As a BI Developer, you will play a central role in Innergex's data and analytics initiatives. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining ETL processes, building and optimizing the data warehouse (with a focus on Data Vault modeling), and building data marts and dashboards that strengthen decision-making capabilities across the organization.

You will collaborate directly with business partners and analysts to translate business needs into scalable, high-quality data solutions. You will identify fundamental needs and propose solutions that optimize return on investment. This role requires autonomy, technical leadership, and a dedication to continuous improvement.

Your day-to-day!

  • Analyze and understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for data integration, data warehousing, and reporting.
  • Design, develop, and maintain ETLs that extract data from multiple sources (Oracle Fusion, Salesforce, etc.) using tools such as Matillion, Python, and SQL.
  • Design the architecture and implement the corporate data warehouse using best practices in Data Vault modeling, ensuring scalability, stability, and flexibility for growing business needs.
  • Develop and optimize data marts to support analytical and reporting needs.
  • Build, maintain, and improve Power BI dashboards and reports to support business decisions and trend discovery.
  • Ensure data quality, traceability, and governance throughout the data lifecycle by proactively identifying and correcting issues.
  • Collaborate with business partners to understand fundamental needs, propose solutions, and iterate on deliverables to maximize business impact.
  • Maintain documentation and provide technical support and knowledge sharing to the team. Support testing, deployment, and monitoring of solutions.

Your skills, our requirements!

  • Bachelor's degree in systems management, bachelor's degree in software engineering, bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with business partners to clarify requirements, iterate on deliverables, and ensure that solutions meet real needs.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in BI with a track record of designing and delivering end-to-end data solutions.
  • Solid experience in ETL development, multi-source data integration, and pipeline automation (preferably with Matillion, Python, SQL, or similar tools).
  • Expertise in creating and managing data warehouses with advanced knowledge of Data Vault modeling and best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills for problem solving. Ability to break down a complex problem and design an effective solution.
  • Ability to understand, question, and clarify business needs and propose solutions that meet fundamental requirements.
  • Autonomy and initiative. Ability to lead projects and/or a heavy workload independently, prioritizing tasks and delivering results with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and collaboration skills. Able to work with cross-functional teams and explain technical concepts to non-technical partners.
  • Rigorous and organized with attention to detail and a commitment to data and documentation quality.
  • Curiosity and ease of learning. Seeking new knowledge, embracing change, and adapting to technological changes and shifting priorities.
  • Demonstrate a sense of responsibility and ownership, take full responsibility for results, and have the desire to exceed expectations.
  • Expertise in designing and creating data marts and dashboards, ideally with Power BI.
  • Experience in an environment with data governance.
  • Experience in an energy production company is an asset.
  • Experience with Snowflake, AWS Glue (Python), Power BI/Tableau technologies.
  • Bilingualism (French and English, both spoken and written) required to ensure collaboration with various stakeholders outside Quebec on a recurring basis.

  • The position is based at the company's head office in Longueuil, steps away from the Longueuil-Université de Sherbrooke metro station.
  • This position is a P3 level.
