Summary About the Role – CMT Event Services The Corporate Management Trainee (CMT) – Event Services Concentration is an accelerated career development program designed to prepare emerging leaders for a successful future with Hyatt. This position provides primary hands-on experience in Event Services while also offering the opportunity to rotate through Food & Beverage operations to gain a broader understanding of luxury hotel management.
The CMT will support the planning, coordination, and execution of meetings, conferences, and social events at Park Hyatt Toronto, ensuring seamless operations and exceptional service aligned with Forbes 5-Star standards.
Reports To: Event Services Manager & Director of Events
Some of the responsibilities include:
- Participate in all aspects of Event Services operations, from pre-event planning to on-site execution and post-event follow-up.
- Collaborate closely with Culinary, Event Planning, and Event Sales teams to ensure seamless communication and flawless service delivery.
- Support meeting planners and clients by ensuring all event details are executed to Hyatt and Forbes standards.
- Learn and uphold Forbes 5-Star service standards, including personalized greetings, proactive anticipation of needs, and thoughtful closing remarks.
- Assist with setup, service, and breakdown of banquet and event spaces while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Lead or support pre-shift briefings, assign tasks, and monitor event flow.
- Gain exposure to F&B operations (restaurants, lounges, banquets) to develop a strong foundation in guest service and leadership.
- Respond promptly to guest feedback and assist with service recovery when needed.
- Contribute to administrative tasks including event billing, reporting, and post-event evaluations.
Qualifications
- Degree/diploma in Hospitality or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Previous hotel, restaurant, or banquet operations experience preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Service-driven with a positive, proactive mindset.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
