Opportunity
Position: Centre Manager
Summary: We are seeking a resilient and organized individual with exceptional communication skills to join our team in the role of Centre Manager . The Centre Manager is accountable for the overall operations of the designated Animal Centre including communications with the provincial office, short-term and long-term planning, budgeting, animal care, staffing, volunteer management, purchasing and other centre activities.
A Typical Day
- Develop and monitor the Centre operational budget, including operating expenses, revenue and capital expenditures
- Ensure the health and behavioural needs of all animals in care of the centre are monitored daily
- Ensure all animal care, infectious disease and facility cleaning protocols and policies are followed
- Administrative duties including supply orders
- Recruiting, orientating, scheduling, training, motivating and supervising staff to gain cooperation in meeting the goals and objectives of the Ontario SPCA
- Keep detailed records on staff training and provide regular performance evaluations
- Oversee the centre volunteer program including recruitment, training, supervision and recognition
- Building and maintaining relationships with local services fostering support for the Centre including partnering businesses, veterinary clinics and animal services
- Support animal care and enrichment as needed.
Setting up For Success!
- College Diploma in Business Management or related education plus work experience required
- 2 years of supervisory and/or leadership experience
- 1 year of customer service experience in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Animal care work experience
- Volunteer management experience an asset
- Ability to lift 18 kg (40lbs) and control 45 kg (100lbs)
- Valid G drivers’ licence with the ability to provide a clear driver’s abstract
- Open availability including weekdays, weekends and holidays
- College Certificate in Animal Care or fundraising preferred
- RVT credential an asset
- Police clearance certificate
