Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic, full‑time educator to serve in a dual role as Inclusion Support Teacher in the mornings and Physical Education Teacher in the afternoons. This position supports students through individualized instruction, targeted literacy intervention, ongoing assessment, and enrichment opportunities delivered both in and out of the classroom. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with teachers and Educational Assistants to differentiate learning, coordinate support strategies, and foster meaningful academic growth. In the afternoons, the role shifts to leading an engaging Physical Education program that builds fitness, coordination, teamwork, and environmental awareness through games, rhythmic movement, outdoor adventure, and personalized goal‑setting. Job Responsibilities- Inclusion Support

  • Provide targeted support for students requiring additional assistance or enrichment, offering individualized instruction in dedicated learning settings.

  • Deliver focused literacy intervention for individuals and small groups, strengthening foundational reading, writing, and comprehension skills.

  • Conduct ongoing assessments each reporting period to monitor student progress, identify emerging needs, and inform instructional adjustments.

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to differentiate learning activities and ensure students receive appropriate scaffolding or extension opportunities.

  • Develop enrichment experiences that challenge advanced learners through higher‑order thinking tasks, project‑based learning, and independent inquiry.

  • Maintain clear communication with teachers and Educational Assistants to coordinate support strategies and ensure continuity across learning environments.

Job Responsibilities- Physical Education

  • Guide students in safely managing physical exertion and developing cardiovascular fitness, strength, flexibility, and coordination.
  • Lead rhythmic, expressive, and skill‑building movement activities that enhance motor control, creativity, and confidence.
  • Design and facilitate games, challenges, and adventure‑based outdoor learning that promote problem‑solving, teamwork, and environmental awareness.
  • Apply health and fitness principles, including FITT, to support personalized goal‑setting and exercise planning.
  • Foster collaboration and positive group dynamics through structured team activities and community‑oriented events.
  • Integrate cultural and community perspectives to enrich physical education experiences.
  • Promote holistic well‑being by incorporating mind‑body practices that support mental and physical health.

Qualifications

  • BC Certified Teacher

  • 5 years + of elementary classroom experience

  • Experience and background in Inclusion Support and Physical Education

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in innovative educational methods.
