Responsible for the packaging & shipping of wine and beverage alcohol products and components, while maintaining both Company and Government quality standards and working with other team members to ensure safe work practices and the efficient operation of the Grimsby Bottle shop and Warehouse.
Occasionally required to work at different APL locations (Trius, ODC)
The teammates responsible for -
- Participate in training program and qualification process for Bottling Line Operator and Shipper
- Demonstrate proficiency, attention to detail, and ability to troubleshoot while operating the various work -stations on production lines
- Document the results of all quality inspections as per SOP training.
- Re-work product as required, i.e. re-labeling, debottling, and inspection.
- Maintains quality standards by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s). Reports any and all quality concerns to the Operations Manager or designate (Supervisor or Lead Hand)
- Communicates any maintenance issues to Lead hand or Supervisor
- Cleans equipment, machines and general work environment when required and ensures the work area is neat, clean and organized.
- Ensure all shipments are properly prepared for shipping and accompanied by a bill of lading
- Physically count and verify production quantities as well as outgoing and incoming materials
- Follows safe work procedures and practices and reports all unsafe working conditions / hazards and work related injuries to Supervisor or Manager
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
- Reports to: Packaging Supervisor – Bottle Shop, Operations Manager – Shipping
- Direct Reports: N/A
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- Physical Effort– Frequent to constant standing, occasional walking, sitting, bending, crouching and stairclimbing, Ability to lift up to 50lbs, and exert forces of up to 35lbs (scrubbing, mopping, pushing and pulling equipment). Repetitive lifting on some shifts (manual stacking of cases, manual depalletization)
Physical Environment– Working near moving machinery in a manufacturing environment. Working indoors with temperatures ranging from cool to hot and humid seasonally, typical manufacturing level noise (PEE supplied)
Sensory Attention – High attention to detail, organization, flexibility and adaptation to changing plans, ability to address problems quickly and effectively, high level of performance standards for safety, quality and conduct. Mental Stress – Shift work and ability to work at other locations when required, meeting deadlines and schedules, ability to work overtime as required, continuous concentration/alertness needed
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Frequent to constant standing
- Occasional walking, sitting, crouching
- Rare requirement for stair climbing and balancing on one foot
- Continuous concentration/alertness required
- Lifting
The teammate brings -
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two years work experience or training in a similar manufacturing operation.
- Oral and Written communication skills
- Forklift experience
