Position Summary

Application Consultant, Medical Imaging Department Your goal in this position is to play a critical role in ensuring proactive and timely response to technology and change initiatives, demonstrate ability to take ownership of components for the maintenance and support of both hardware and software applications of all Radiology and Cardiology Imaging systems. Successful candidates must possess superior hardware and software diagnostic and troubleshooting skills and experience in a Medical Imaging environment is an asset. You have sound knowledge of Windows Server Administration including VPN, DHCP, DNS, IIS, Group Policy, DFS, Cluster and you are proficient with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office 365 and Active Directory. You will play an active role within project and change management initiatives for the Medical Imaging Department. You have excellent interpersonal, organization and prioritization skills, demonstrated by the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and in a fast-paced environment. You are a collaborative team player who inspires a positive work environment and a self-starter with the ability to work with minimal direction. This position supports the hospital’s academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning and/or transforming care through research and innovation. This position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and families.

On a practical level, you will

You will participate in cross-department support for maintaining the RIS/PACS application software, as well as all Medical Imaging hardware and software applications for large and small departmental initiatives. Act as the first level of operational support for issues that arise with client and server hardware and software that host the RIS/PACS, Cardiology ISCV, implementation of RIS/PACS upgrades to recommend a plan to address issues. Participate in plans with the users and vendors of the impacted areas of the application to troubleshoot and identify issues, take prompt action and define alternative routes for quick solution. Provide technical expertise as the subject matter expert for all technical aspects to provide guidance, and advisory support, and communicate opportunities for improvements towards implementing a customer centric solution as it relates to the MI department. Perform cross-functional duties as assigned or requested, to perform other duties consistent with the job classification as required.

Qualifications

College degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent combination of formal education and experience. Working Knowledge of hospital IT Hardware and Software Hands-on experience in the system analysis of complex applications Knowledge and hands on experience with Active Directory groups and permissions is required. Working knowledge of Exchange administration, both on prem and Exchange online, SQL Databases & basic network configuration Previous experience with Cerner RadNET is a definite asset ITIL Foundation Certificate is a must Experiences in application support is an asset Working knowledge of various applications used in the Medical Imaging Department (for voice recognition and PACS) and Information Services and other service departments is a great asset Bilingualism in French/English an asset
