About the role

Centre for Sexuality is a nationally recognized community-based organization delivering programs and services to normalize sexuality and sexual health across an individual’s lifespan and we partner with individuals and organizations for the benefit of our clients and communities. Sexual well-being for all is at the core of what we do. We teach, we train, and we advocate to support healthy bodies, healthy relationships, and healthy communities. We provide education, training, and counselling for everyone and have been leading the way in the areas of sexuality, healthy relationships, human rights, gender identity, sexual orientation, equality, and consent for over 50 years. As the Team Lead of Education, you will collaborate with the Youth Programs Manager to oversee the daily operations of the Relationship and Sexual Health Education (RSE) and 2SLGBTQ+ programs, ensuring youth receive high-quality, impactful education. This role includes program planning, implementation, and evaluation while providing mentorship and support to program staff. You will supervise five facilitators, ensure effective program delivery and foster partnerships with schools and community organizations.

As our successful candidate, you will

Provide mentorship, facilitation observation, supervision, and performance management for program staff, including annual goal setting, professional development, and capacity-building to ensure high-quality program delivery. Support the recruitment, orientation, and training of new staff, including the development of training manuals, handbooks, and instructional resources. Ensure program content reflects current research, best practices, and emerging trends in sexual health education, gender equity, and violence prevention, using evaluation data to support continuous improvement. Coordinate and oversee the scheduling and logistics of RSE and 2SLGBTQ+ program delivery in schools and community settings. Oversee and provide leadership support to the camp fYrefly planning team. Oversee administrative tasks such as time tracking, time-off requests, and program supply requests. Support the preparation of program reports and evaluation processes, ensuring timely submissions to funders and leadership. Participate as a member of the leadership team, contributing to organizational planning, strategic priorities, and staff development initiatives. Promote the Centre for Sexuality as a leader in programs and services for sexual health. Respond to requests for information about the program in a professional and timely manner. Develop, strengthen, and sustain partnerships with schools, community organizations, and advisory committees to support program growth and impact.

Qualifications and Attributes required

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Social Work, Education, Human Services, or Public Health or related field, or combination of work experience with population specific programming expertise. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in team leadership, program management, and nonprofit operations. Demonstrated knowledge and application of the population health promotion model, relevant health promotion strategies and determinants of health.

A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in delivering youth programs

Knowledge and comfort with topics related to sexuality, sexual health, gender, and sexual and gender diversity will be considered an asset.

Strong knowledge of core topics related to the population specific programming

Proven ability in building partnerships, fostering community relationships, and driving alignment in engagement initiatives. Commitment to youth engagement. Commitment to organizational values of social justice, self-determination, collaboration, and prevention. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Effective conflict resolution, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Demonstrates curiosity and commitment to lifelong learning and continuous program improvement. Excellent time management and organizational skills in a fast-paced, open-space work environment.

Additional requirements

Access to a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance. Ability to work some evenings and weekends as needed. Police Information Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search (or willingness to obtain one). Valid First Aid and CPR certifications (or willingness to become certified).

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $67,000 – $73,000 annually. Comprehensive benefits package. Excellent work environment with professional development opportunities.
