 Jayman Living is seeking a Project Coordinator for our Mixed-Use Division

  • a role that offers hands-on involvement in transformative projects, the chance to grow your skills, and clear pathways to career development. 

One of our most anticipated communities is Nostalgia Townlet, a master-planned development in south Calgary, nestled along the Bow River. Designed with intention, Nostalgia blends history with forward-thinking design, offering diverse housing, retail, and professional spaces. As Project Coordinator, you'll not only contribute to this landmark project but also support the Project Manager in other high-profile developments in the Jayman Living portfolio. 

A day in the life of Project Coordinator in Mixed-Use

You will provide essential project coordination and administrative support throughout the development and construction lifecycle, including:  

Project Administration & Coordination 

  • Prepare and distribute tender packages.
  • Coordinate trade communications and respond to RFIs and clarifications.
  • Prepare, issue, and track purchase orders.
  • Maintain project schedules, documentation, and deliverables.
  • Prepare meeting materials, record action items, and follow up on outstanding tasks.
  • Organize and manage digital project files for approvals and reporting.

Construction & Site - Supporting the Project Manager

  • Track project progress against schedule and scope.
  • Coordinate with trades, consultants, and general contractors.
  • Participate in site walks, assist with deficiency tracking, and ensure timely resolution.
  • Communicate site changes and updates to all stakeholders.
  • Review commercial tenant drawing packages and issue formal notifications.
  • Conduct commercial tenant turnovers for fixturing per lease agreements.
  • Assist the project manager with ongoing coordination of the GC and consulting team throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Maintain organized digital project files and construction records.
  • Work with the commercial leasing team to price additional landlord work and coordinate additional tenant work.
  • Review all commercial tenant drawing packages, etc., and issue formal notification.

Project Closeout & Handover

  • Coordinate closeout documentation (manuals, warranties, as-builts).
  • Manage deficiency lists and follow up with trades/ contractors.
  • Support the customer care department team during the 1-year warranty period.
  • Work with property management during asset turnover.
  • Reconcile commercial tenant improvement allowances per lease terms.
  • Assist with account reconciliation, project financial closeout, and Letters of Credit.

What you will bring to the table

  • 3-5 years in project coordination/ project management, preferably in commercial/ mixed use construction.
  • Post-secondary education in Project Management, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field.
  • Experience and familiarity with Calgary's building codes and municipal processes.
  • PMP or CAPM designation (or working toward) is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project) and Bluebeam.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents, drawings, schedules, contracts, and scopes of work.
  • Strong digital organization skills; experience with cloud-based files and task management systems.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and accountable.
  • Positive, solutions-focused attitude with urgency to meet deadlines.
  • Collaborative and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Eager to learn and grow into larger roles and responsibilities.
