Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversees the day-to-day operations of an assigned program. Develops, implements, coordinates, and evaluates plans and programs designed to ensure that the needs of children, youth, and families are met.

Will be the Licensed Manager as per Licensing Regulations to ensure all activities adhere to Child Care Licensing Regulations.

Supervises, mentors, guides and leads the staff, if there are multiple staff within the program.

Provides day-to-day direction and performance feedback to staff and volunteers within the program.

Provides direct supervision of members, and ensures their health, safety, and wellness.
-
Creates program activity calendar to be distributed to members and families.
-
Performs general data entry functions such as attendance and calendars.

Orients new families and members to the program and club

Build relationships with the children, youth, and families within their designated programs. Establishes open communication with parents/caregivers. Identifies families who require additional support and connects them with appropriate resources.

Provides group and/or individual behavior management and support.

Performs monthly and weekly audits and inspections about participant’s files, play space checklists, etc.

Ensures Agency Policies and Procedures, Program Operating Standards, WCB standards, Community Care Licensing Regulations, Risk Management requirements and general safety standards are always met and followed by all staff.

Participates in the recruitment of program staff and volunteers, including conducting interviews, orientation and training.

Ensures adequate supplies and equipment for staff to operate the program. Ensures that accurate program and member records are maintained and that confidentiality is a priority.
Qualifications:

Diploma, certificate, and/or relevant experience working with children or youth in recreation, education, or social services.

Completion of a course or combination of courses (minimum 20 hours) which include child development, guidance, health and safety, or nutrition (for licensed programs).

Minimum one (1) year of recent related experience.

Class 4 Driver’s License or willingness to obtain

Must be 19 years of age or older, as required by licensing regulations.

First Aid Certificate and Food Safe or willingness to obtain Successful completion of Agency screening including a Criminal Record Check
This position is open to all applicants and requires union membership
Hours: 25 hours per week, Monday - Friday (school year only)
Rate of Pay: $22.60 per hour
