**Position Title:**High School Foods Teacher
Job Status: Part-Time (0.625 FTE)

As a central division of the Society, Regent Christian Academy (RCA) is our flagship campus-based school, serving the community through our Sullivan and Cloverdale campuses in Surrey, BC. We bring the RCAS mission to life through a vibrant, in-person learning community where students from Preschool through Grade 12 engage in rigorous academics, competitive athletics, and the fine arts. Key Responsibilities:
Regent Christian Academy is seeking a dedicatedFoods Teacherwho will lead our Culinary Arts program, inspiring students to develop lifelong skills in food preparation, nutrition, and global food systems within a Christ-centred learning environment. With a 48-year legacy of excellence in Christian education, RCA is a vibrant community of 750 students across two campuses, dedicated to equipping the next generation to impact society through a Christ-centred lens.
-**Lab Instruction:**Plan and supervise food labs for [Grade Levels, e.g., 8–12], ensuring high standards of kitchen safety and sanitation (FOODSAFEprotocols). -Curriculum Integration:Deliver theB.C. ADST Curriculum, focusing on the "Design-Think" process, meal planning, and Indigenous food perspectives. -**Kitchen Stewardship:**Manage grocery ordering, budget tracking, and maintenance of industrial equipment (stoves, mixers, sanitizers). -**Spiritual Integration:**Lead students in understanding food as a gift, practicing hospitality, and exploring stewardship/sustainability from a biblical worldview.
Requirements & Qualifications:

-Certification:ValidB.C. Professional Teaching Certificate(or eligibility for one through the TRB) -**Education:**A Bachelor of Education with a Major/Minor in Home Economics, Culinary Arts, or significant industry experience (Red Seal is an asset but not required). -Specialization: Safety Credentials:CurrentLevel 1 FOODSAFEcertification (preferred but optional). -Faith Commitment:A dedicated follower of Jesus Christ who is an active member of a local Christian church and signs ourStatement of Faith. -**Skills:**Strong classroom management, ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners, and proficiency in educational technology.

This role requires a genuine and reasonable occupational requirement (GOR) for the employee to affirm and support RCAS’s Christian beliefs and actively participate in a Christian church community.
