How You Will Contribute
Ciena is seeking an Analog Engineer to ensure compliance of our in-house designed Serializer/Deserializer (SerDes) with relevant industry interop specifications such as IEEE and OIF. As part of the Analog Integration team, you will collaborate closely with the Analog & DSP design teams, Firmware teams, and Signal Integrity teams to help productize our SerDes for optimal performance while maintaining compliance.
In this role, you will:
- Ensure Ciena's in-house designed SerDes are compliant with all relevant IEEE standards.
- Collaborate with design and integration teams to optimize SerDes performance.
- Bring up and validate new ASICs and modules, ensuring their performance and reliability through rigorous compliance testing based on IEEE and OIF standards
- Run stress tests on high-speed SERDES, including 56G/112G PAM4 SERDES drivers and receivers, to optimize functionality and ensure system integrity.
- Perform detailed testing and analysis to validate SerDes functionality and compliance.
- Bring up and validate new ASICs and modules
- Provide technical expertise in SerDes operation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Have an understanding of the design to set up test environments and troubleshoot errors
The Must Haves:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Strong understanding of 112G/224G SerDes operation and testing methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with BERT equipment, sampling and real-time oscilloscopes, and network
- Ability to interpret test results and reports, revisiting failures with design teams to make actionable recommendations for improvement
The Assets:
- Proficiency in MATLAB for instrument automation, control, and data processing.
- Familiarity with Keysight compliance software for SerDes measurement is an asset
Pay Range:
The annual salary range for this position is: $105,500 - $168,500 CAD
Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.
Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
