WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Field Marketing Manager

The Field Marketing Manager leads the execution of fan-focused marketing initiatives for the National Bank Open, enhancing the overall fan experience and supporting business objectives. This role collaborates cross-functionally to deliver on-site activations, manage partner integrations, and ensure brand consistency while contributing to revenue growth.

Fan Experience & Event Programming

  • Develop and implement 360-degree fan experience strategies before and during the tournament, tailored to diverse audience segments.
  • Lead the planning and execution of on-site promotions and non-tennis activations that reflect the NBO brand vision and enhance audience engagement.
  • Oversee the programming of major fan events, including Free Family Weekend and TennisFest Weekend, ensuring they meet experience and business objectives.
  • Collaborate on live match production content (e.g., live scoring, video boards, messaging matrix) to ensure a cohesive and dynamic on-site experience.
  • Continuously improve fan experience strategies by leveraging best practices, trend research, and post-event insights.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as a central liaison between departments such as Tournament Operations, Corporate Partnerships, Food & Beverage, IT, Digital, and Customer Service.
  • Ensure seamless coordination and integration of all initiatives across departments for effective on-site execution.

Sponsorship Integration & Revenue Generation

  • Execute partner activations on-site in collaboration with the Corporate Partnerships team, aligning with sponsor goals and performance indicators.
  • Develop and optimize revenue-generating initiatives and branded experiences that maximize impact and value for partners.
  • Advise on partner integrations to ensure activations are engaging, measurable, and brand-consistent.

Creative Development & Brand Consistency

  • Oversee the production of creative assets for all key messages and signage in the Toronto market, ensuring alignment with NBO brand guidelines.
  • Maintain and elevate brand consistency across all tournament-related collateral and on-site experiences.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Manage and mentor the Field Marketing Coordinator and marketing assistants, offering guidance and growth opportunities.
  • Recruit, train, and direct a team of volunteers and committee leads, ensuring efficient execution of all marketing and programming initiatives.

Administrative & Strategic Planning

  • Manage the Toronto NBO marketing budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to financial goals.
  • Contribute to strategic marketing planning and post-event reporting to evaluate performance and guide future initiatives.
  • Participate in the strategic planning committee to help shape long-term event and marketing strategies.

Support for Davis Cup & Billie Jean King Cup Events

  • Manage all marketing deliverables for Team Canada events, including creative, signage, and promotional materials for both domestic and international activations.
  • Lead the planning and execution of booster programs and fan engagement campaigns related to these events.
  • Negotiate and oversee marketing service contracts up to $50,000, ensuring delivery aligns with expectations.
  • Spearhead festivities and marketing for trophy celebration tours, including activations, merchandise, and logistics.

Retail & Merchandise Program

  • Develop, manage, and execute the entire merchandise program, including Tennis Canada’s e-commerce store, promotional creative, and inventory management.
  • Support day-to-day e-commerce operations, ensuring efficient fulfillment and a high-quality customer experience.
  • Set revenue targets and oversee merchandise strategy, including product development and promotional planning.
  • Oversee retail execution across events, including vendor partnerships and activations.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing. (preferred)
  • 5 years of experience in marketing or event management.
  • Proven experience in event marketing, fan engagement, and on-site activations, ideally in the sports or entertainment industry.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent collaboration and relationship-building skills, with experience working cross-functionally.
  • Creative mindset with a passion for enhancing fan experiences and delivering innovative solutions.
  • Experience managing budgets, teams, and external vendors.
