As a Programmer Analyst, you will work as part of a talented and dedicated team to provide front line application support and assistance to clients from one or more business units within the corporation. Primary duties include:

  • Collaborate with clients, team members and other Information Technology (IT) teams and divisions to resolve application incidents.
  • Configure, upgrade, and support applications that are in use by clients.
  • Plan and schedule regular maintenance tasks and perform overall health checks of the systems.
  • Develop written technical materials and solution design documents.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues for a variety of applications, system integrations, and/or reports.
  • All positions will be expected to be part of a rotational stand-by schedule.

Qualifications

  • A completed 2 year technical diploma in Information Technology and at least 2 years of systems development and/or support experience in client/server and web environments is required.
  • Intermediate analysis and trouble shooting skills within vendor systems installations, event logs and related systems alerts and events is required.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills and able to plan and organize complex tasks is required.
  • Proven experience with C#, ASP.NET, CAAF, MAF (Backbone/Angular/Blacksmith), Procedural Language/Structured Query Language (PL/SQL) Oracle, SQL Server, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, and Bootstrap is required.
  • Proven experience with CSS, Active and Crystal reports, Power BI, Business Object, Informatica, TIBCO, Oracle DBMS software, and Cognos Reporting will be considered assets.
  • Proven experience with City of Calgary enterprise systems and applications will be given preference.
  • Recent experience with specific Calgary Transit enterprise applications such as HASTUS, Giro and ACE will be given preference.
  • Recent Experience with Microsoft Power Apps will be given preference.
  • You can work independently and quickly acquire new knowledge and technical skills.
  • You have demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to plan and organize complex tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong customer focus.

Pre-employment Requirements

  • A security clearance will be conducted.
  • Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.

Workstyle: This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.

Compensation: Pay Grade 9 $40.18 - 53.76 per hour

Days of Work: This position typically works a 5 day

work week, with 1 day off in each 3 week cycle.

Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
