The Health & Safety Business Partner is accountable for overseeing, and administering ROBINSON’s health and safety programs. This role involves developing workplace health and safety policies, processes and procedures aligned with provincial standards across western Canada, as well as developing innovative solutions to support injury prevention. • Promote a comprehensive, cohesive and impactful safety culture
  • Act as the health & safety subject matter expert, provide accurate and reliable health and safety advice and support to the company’s people leaders and team members
  • Stay up to date on provincial legislation and ensure safety compliance throughout the company
  • Research and recommend creative and innovative approaches to accident/injury prevention, education and overall safety culture
  • Identify and implement new or modified safety practices, including policies, procedures, hazard analysis, and training
  • Collaborate with HR, training, facilities and operations to improve safety practices and culture
  • Oversee local/branch workplace health & safety committees and audit programs
  • In collaboration with people leaders and HR Business Partners, facilitate return to work and/or modified duties programs
  • Track and analyze accident and injury data, providing regular reporting to senior leadership
  • Maintain accurate safety training records and ensure employee training is kept up to date
  • Identify, coordinate and/or deliver safety training (WHMIS, fall protection, personal protection equipment, forklift training, CPR etc.)
  • Lead injury and incident investigations, working with people leaders to review findings and develop hazard prevention & corrective action plans
  • Willingness to travel as required

About you:

  • Post secondary degree or diploma in a related field
  • At least five years as a mid- senior level professional in a health and safety capacity
  • A professional presence with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience developing and implementing safety programs across multiple locations
  • Demonstrated experience conducting analysis, formulating recommendations and facilitating implementation
  • Ability to establish and leverage positive relationships with key stakeholders
  • Effective communicator, including the ability to prepare reports, deliver presentations and training
  • Ability to travel across Canada
