As a Senior Financial Analyst - Toronto Blue Jays, you’ll play a key role in driving financial performance across several revenue-generating departments, including but not limited to Ticketing, Partnerships, Food & Beverage, and Florida Operations. You’ll be a trusted advisor to business leaders, providing strategic financial insights and ensuring operational excellence through data-driven decision-making. Based out of the Rogers Centre, this role will report into the Sr. Manager, Finance – Toronto Blue Jays.
What you'll do:
- Lead financial planning activities, including annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting, in collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Analyze and explain P&L variances across revenue, cost of goods sold (COGS), and operating expenses, comparing actuals to budget, forecast, and prior year
- Support MLB Revenue Sharing and standalone statutory audits of the Toronto Blue Jays, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Assist with reporting deliverables for Blue Jays leadership, ownership, and Major League Baseball
- Contribute financial expertise to cross-functional initiatives, helping solve complex business challenges
- Prepare month-end journal entries, including revenue recognition and accruals
- Drive ad hoc financial analysis and special projects to support strategic initiatives
What you have:
- University degree with a specialization in business/accounting
- CPA designation recommended
- 3-4 years of experience in a fast-paced, challenging accounting environment
- Knowledge of and passion for baseball an asset
- Highly advanced analytical skills and advanced Excel skills
- Ability to independently manage and organize multiple work activities to meet or exceed established deadlines and priorities
- Proficiency in Hyperion Smartview and Oracle Finance Systems an asset
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels and areas of the organization
