The salary range for this position is:

-Recruitment range: $60,120 - $66,270starting salary determined by the PEA Collective Agreement. -Performance range: $78,155salary range ceiling is available through annual performance increases.

Job Summary

Mandate: Reporting to the Administrative Officer, the Junior Educational Technology Specialist provides learning technology support to Faculty members, instructors, staff, and students. Working across the School of Nursing, the Jr. Educational Technology Specialist provides hands-on support for technology infused learning and teaching and oversees integration of new learning and teaching technology. This position also works collaboratively within a team to create documentation that is informative and instructive for our division reference as well as for the UVic Community.

Objectives:

  • Ensure the effective use of educational technologies by providing timely, user-centered support that enhances teaching and learning experiences.
  • Contribute to a consistent and accessible digital learning environment by maintaining accurate system access and troubleshooting issues across platforms.
  • Promote digital fluency and confidence among faculty and staff through resource development, orientation support, and responsive assistance.
  • Support the School of Nursing’s academic mission and innovation goals by enabling high-quality delivery of online and technology-enhanced courses.

Job Requirements

This position requires a level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree plus two years of relevant experience preferably in a post-secondary or comparable environment. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office suite and familiarity with learning technologies and online learning environments and their appropriate use for teaching and learning.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with UVic programs, policies, procedures and business systems is considered an asset.
