Skate Patrol, under the direction of the Supervisor of Facilities and Properties, will primarily be responsible for ensuring facility policies, procedures and regulations are maintained during public skates ensuring the safety and well-being of patrons. This position will also assist with janitorial duties within the arena.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
- Greet all patrons in a welcoming and friendly manner and receive payment for entry.
- Enforcing rules and regulations, providing minor first aid, effectively patrolling public skating with an emphasis on the safety of the patrons while promoting leisure.
- Wear proper protective equipment- skates, CSA approved helmet, and provided high visibility vest
- Assist with custodial duties as assigned
- Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and adhere to the Town and facility service standards and policies
Job Requirements
- Current First Aid Certification Level C with CPR
- Strong verbal skills to resolve and address any on ice issues.
- Ability to stand/skate for extended periods of time in a cold environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, customer service and organizational skills.
- Displays initiative, reliability, and flexibility.
- Ability to relate positively and effectively with a wide diversity of people.
- Experience in an administrative/cash handling role.
- Experience performing janitorial duties.
This is a part-time position. Candidates must be able to work weekends, holidays, including December Holiday Break and March Break. Shifts will be 4 hours in length.
