The role in a nutshell
In this role, you will be a key contributor within the regional Finance team with a focus on our Copper assets in Quebec: our Smelter in Rouyn-Noranda and Refinery in Montreal-East. Reporting to the Manager for Revenues, Inventories and Metal accounting, you will be responsible for maintaining accounting transactions, financial planning and analysis, enabling dependable reporting cycles and enhancing process efficiencies and effectiveness. You will also be involved in audit processes and supporting key transformation initiatives.
More specifically, you will be expected to:
- Prepare accurate and timely forecasts and budgets for revenues and inventory.
- Assist in long-term financial planning and valuation for our assets.
- Perform meaningful financial analysis related to metal commodities.
- Execute accounting transactions during month-end and year-end.
- Produce key financial and operational reporting to support decision-making processes.
- Coordinate information requirements relating to external and other audits.
- Build and sustain effective relationships with key stakeholders across marketing, asset operations, commercial teams, and both group and regional finance.
Do you have what it takes?
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g. CPA, CFA) is highly regarded.
- 5+ years of experience in financial analysis.
- Experience within the mining or manufacturing sector is beneficial.
- Advanced skills in financial forecasting and modeling.
- Thorough understanding of accounting principles, IFRS, and financial reporting.
- Advanced skills in financial software, Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems (SAP preferred), planning applications (HFM, HSF, Anaplan preferred).
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and attentive to detail.
- Effective problem-solver with the capability to translate complicated financial data into useful, decision-focused information.
- Highly organized, skilled at balancing multiple priorities and delivering results on tight schedules in an evolving environment.
- Ability to synthesize financial results well and translate them in a simple and concise way.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in cross-department and cross-functional teams.
**Travel:**Occasional travel may be required (less than 10%)
**Languages:**Advanced proficiency in English (verbal and written). The knowledge of French is beneficial.
**Location:**Corporate office in Toronto (On site)
Duration: This is a fixed-term contract with an expected duration of 18-24 months.

The expected base salary for this position is $92,000 to $125,000, based on competencies, skills, and qualifications and aligned with internal equity. The incumbent will also be eligible to participate in a variable compensation plan (bonus) (note: payment of variable compensation is subject to the terms and conditions of the variable compensation plan and is not guaranteed).
