Cantonese-Speaking Care Professional
Location: Richmond, BC
Position Type: Part-Time (Flexible Schedule)
Languages Required: Cantonese and English
Home Instead – Richmond/Surrey is seeking a compassionate and dependable Cantonese-speaking Care Professional to support seniors living in Richmond and nearby communities. Our Care Professionals help older adults remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their own homes while receiving respectful, person-centred care.
This part-time position offers flexible hours and the opportunity to build meaningful relationships while supporting seniors in their daily lives.
What You Will Do
In this role, you will provide non-medical support to Cantonese-speaking seniors in their homes. Responsibilities may include:
- Providing companionship and conversation primarily in Cantonese
- Assisting with personal care, including toileting, bathing, grooming, and hygiene
- Preparing meals and helping with light housekeeping tasks
- Supporting clients with errands or appointments when needed
- Helping maintain a safe and comfortable home environment
- Completing shift documentation in English using our Care App (training provided)
Qualifications
- Must reside in or near Richmond, BC
- Fluent in Cantonese and able to communicate in English for documentation purposes
- Compassionate, dependable, and professional
- Minimum 6 months of caregiving or home support experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle preferred but not required
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
Assets (Not Required)
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Food Safe certification
