SUMMER STUDENT, HEARING AID CLINICS

Canadian Hearing Services (CHS) has an opening for a Hearing Aid Clinics Summer Student (Canada Summer Jobs). This is an on-site 8-week summer position where the student will work in cooperation with department staff to provide a variety of administrative tasks and office supports. Reporting to the program-specific supervisor/manager, this will be an on-site position supporting our Hearing Health Care and Hearing Aid Clinics programs and services.
Note: There is currently 1 position available. Applicants must be in or support the Toronto location.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

(Primary)EMR clean-up and organization:
-
Uploading Iron Mountain scanned PDFs to BP client files
-
Sorting online forms (processing, verifying data, clearing archives, cancelling errors and past due items, etc.)
-
Merging duplicates and removing test profiles
-
Supporting our provincial call-center:
-
Processing hearing screenings
-
Responding to emails/web forms
-
Answering in-bound calls for the 1-866 line when staffing is reduced (vacations)

In-Clinic:
-
Lunch and break desk support for PA
-
Coverage during PA absence
-
Inventory and organization for HA accessories and tool kits (as required by the clinician)
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Applicants must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment; be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and, have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to details required.

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work within a highly confidential environment.

Previous experience working with Culturally Deaf, oral deaf, deafened or hard of hearing individuals an asset.

American Sign Language (ASL) skills an asset.
-
French language skills an asset.
-
Ability to work independently and within a team.
This is an 8-week contract during the period of June 29, 2026, to August 21, 2026, working 30 hours per week.
