Job Summary:
Urban Life Solutions is seeking a skilled and motivated Shop Helper to join our team. As a Shop Helper, you will assist our experienced mechanics in performing maintenance and repairs on various vehicles and equipment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about mechanics and eager to gain hands-on experience in the field.

Responsibilities:
Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems

Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions

Inspect motor in operation, road test motor vehicles and test automotive systems and components

Road test motor vehicles

Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems

Repair or replace mechanical units or components

Other duties as required

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Valid Class G driver’s license with a clean driving record

Reliable transportation to and from work

Experience in a truck, automotive, or mechanical shop considered an asset

Basic knowledge of commercial truck and trailer systems

Ability to safely use shop tools and equipment

Strong troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills

Willingness to learn and support apprentices

Physically able to lift heavy parts and work in a fast-paced environment

Ability to road test commercial vehicles
