Calgary Housing (CH) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of The City of Calgary. CH is a purpose-driven social enterprise and the largest housing operator in Calgary, providing safe and affordable housing to more than 27,000 Calgarians. As a Business Technology Project Manager (PM), you will support the implementation of CH technology projects. You will manage Information Technology (IT) projects adhering to City of Calgary and CH standards and policies. You will collaborate with interested parties and will be accountable for the overall delivery of the project, including management of project resources and budget. Primary duties include:
- Develop project plans, schedules, budgets and deliverables, including the work breakdown structure, timeline, resource plan, training plan, risk management plan, communication plan, and other plans identified in the Planning phase.
- Direct and manage projects by monitoring the project team¿s adherence to project plans, schedules and budgets and performance.
- Resolve and/or escalate issues, conduct analysis and provide quality assurance checks on project deliverables.
- Oversee the financial health of projects in human effort and materials.
- Participate in the hiring and/or onboarding of staff and contract staff. Mentor staff and provide input into the performance review of the staff assigned to projects.
- Identify and facilitate training to achieve appropriate skill levels for the core competencies required of each team member.
- Direct and manage the performance of team members, contractors, and vendors against the project plans and schedules.
- Communicate and negotiate with the client, program manager, steering committee, project team, IT management and executive sponsors, and other partners to resolve policy and operational concerns which impact the progress or success of the project.
- Develop and promote organizational change and transition initiatives related to the project.
Qualifications
- A completed 2 year diploma in Business Administration, Information Technology or a related field and at least 10 years of relevant experience, OR;
- A degree in Computer Science, Commerce, Business Administration, Math, Engineering, Bachelor of Science or related field and at least 8 years of relevant experience.
- Experience writing Request for Proposal (RFPs), Project Charters, Project Management Plans, Project Status Reports, Project Closure Reports, Lessons Learned Reports.
- Proven track record of managing cross-functional teams and delivering projects on time and within budget.
- A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification will be considered an asset.
- Experience with enterprise systems such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), cloud platforms and project management tools will be an asset.
- Strong communication skills, well-developed problem solving and critical thinking skills, change management skills and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
