About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Field Training Specialist to develop, coach, and support new and existing Service Technicians working in industrial and mining environments. This is a hands-on role focused on building technical capability, reinforcing safety standards, and ensuring technicians are field-ready and fully compliant.
You’ll split your time between field-based coaching and classroom-style training, working closely with supervisors to strengthen team performance and consistency across all service areas.
What You’ll Do
- Train and onboard new Service Technicians through probation and field readiness
- Deliver hands-on and classroom training in field operations, safety, and technical systems
- Coach technicians and supervisors on safe work practices and quality execution
- Conduct field audits, inspections, and competency assessments at customer sites
- Support certification training (TDG, hydro testing, fire suppression systems, etc.)
- Maintain training records, certifications, and compliance documentation
- Identify skill gaps and support continuous improvement across teams
- Partner with leadership on onboarding, investigations, and corrective actions
What You Bring
- 10+ years’ experience in fire protection / suppression or related industrial field services
- Strong background across multiple disciplines (e.g., fire suppression, alarms, sprinkler, SCBA, fall protection, hydro testing, special hazards)
- Experience in mining or heavy industrial environments
- Previous training, coaching, or senior technician experience is an asset
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Comfortable delivering training in both field and classroom settings
- Strong communication and ability to coach others effectively
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic systems/databases
- Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract
