Hiring Unit:
Masters Programs Office
Position Summary:
There are many events for students in the Masters of Business Administration and Master of Management in Analytics programs including (not limited to): buddy programs, alumni networking, case competitions, hackathons, study trips, new student onboarding, and convocation celebrations. With direction from the Program Officer, MMA and Program Administrator, MBA, the incumbent will be primarily responsible for event planning, coordination and support. This support may include (not limited to) room booking, obtaining quotes for catering, requesting purchase orders, obtaining approvals, researching venues, creating invitations and RSVP forms, printing name badges, putting together bios and guest notes, completing sustainability checklist, etc. Schedule permitting, the incumbent is also requested on site for the event to aid with room and AV set-up, catering, registration desk, and clean-up post event. These tasks are of a high complexity and we expect the incumbent to perform them with general instruction.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional organizational skills, the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously, a high degree of professionalism and autonomy. Should also demonstrate very strong written and spoken communication in English. The incumbent should feel comfortable using MS Office suite including Word, Excel, MS Teams and MS Forms, as well as with Canva. Previous experience in student leadership, teams, clubs, an asset. As is experience working in hospitality or customer service roles.
