Position: Summer Learning Program Indigenous Education - Long-Term Occasional

Location: St. Francis de Sales Catholic School, Smiths Falls; St. John Bosco Catholic School, Brockville; Sacred Heart Catholic School, Cornwall; St. Jude Catholic School, Vankleek Hill

FTE: 1.00 (9:00 am-3:00 pm – includes a 1 hour paid lunch)

Effective: June, 29 2026 - July 17, 2026

Salary: Continuing Education Rate ($48.89/hour)

Summary

The successful candidate will promote and support Indigenous Education and offer support to Summer Learning Teachers, students and families. The consultant will work with the Summer Learning Teachers to integrate Indigenous teachings within literacy and numeracy instruction. The consultant will need to have their own device and strong daily internet access.

Expertise

Experience in a consulting role and with the Ontario Catholic Curriculum with particular emphasis in the area ofLiteracy/Numeracy and Indigenous Education Grade 1 to 6.

Qualifications

  • Valid Ontario College of Teachers Certificate;
  • Religious Education Part 1 would be considered an asset;
  • Special Education Part 1 would be considered an asset;
  • Qualifications in Primary and Junior
  • Knowledge of current ministry initiatives with an emphasis on Indigenous Education;
  • Current knowledge of the Expert Panel Reports and Ministry Guides to Effective Literacy and Numeracy Instruction;
  • Knowledge and use of Microsoft applications and LMS MS Teams;
  • Knowledge of instructional assessment, evaluation and reporting practices in alignment with the Institute for Catholic Education and

the Ontario Ministry of Education;

  • Demonstrated experience and skills in the areas of elementary education
