Job Overview
JV Driver is currently seeking aProgram Managerfor a facilities maintenance project in Brantford, Ontario. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for developing and executing small capital projects to support facility operations.
Job Duties
- Plan and execute projects to meet expectations and deadlines.
- Define scope and work with client to establish project budgets and schedules.
- Adjust timelines based on the project's progress and regularly communicate project goals to on-site employees.
- Implement strategies to hasten work and simplify approaches or adjust deadlines without compromising on quality or safety.
- Manage the project costs and assess spending budgets by keeping track of receipts, invoices, resource costs and personnel contracts.
- Lead safety assessments and inspections to ensure the site adheres to regulations to ensure the site's personnel are safe. This may involve making regular audits and inventories of supplies, tools and personnel to ensure everything is accounted for.
- Responsible for paperwork associated with the site (not limited to), proposal budgets, blueprint drawings. supplier invoices, risk assessments, regulations, quality control guidelines, payroll invoices & occupational health and safety paperwork.
- Mentors and coaches, the workforce, interpret performance, and provide feedback.
- Leads and coordinates the daily activities of subcontractors.
- Creates a climate where people are motivated to do their best to help the organization achieve its objectives.
Key Characteristics
- Maintain the safe execution of the facility projects including facility inspections, near misses, and incident management.
- Ensures that all safety, environmental, quality, and operational-related regulations, standards, and procedures are followed by all personnel.
- Identify opportunities for operating and capital cost reductions and optimizations.
- Work directly with client Project Manager, subcontractor front line supervisors and client 3PL to develop major maintenance execution strategies and ensure that they are executed accordingly.
- Manages all sub-contractors, materials, and equipment as per the developed project plan.
- Creates work schedules and works with subcontractors to determine workforce levels, material quantities, and equipment requirements.
- Monitors contractors trade performance, progress, and productivity.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the project including craft, project management, corporate management, client representatives, and outside regulatory authorities.
- Ability to track performance and produce periodic reports to clients.
- Must excel at co-ordination, organization, written and verbal communication skills, with strict emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience working within local jurisdictional authorities and regulatory bodies.
- Solid understanding of requirements associated with project specific documentation related to turnover, inspection, testing, installations, and quality control including understanding of safety related implementations associated with each process.
Education

Degree in Engineering/E.I.T or equivalent with 3+ years' experience

3+ years' experience as a Project Coordinator/Manager within the construction or maintenance industry

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and common construction budgeting and scheduling software
Position Details

- Monday-Friday, 8 hours per day
