Job Summary: Hosts play a key role in delivering an exceptional guest experience by welcoming guests, seating them promptly, and ensuring timely and accurate food delivery. This role is often the first and last point of contact for restaurant patrons, helping to create a friendly, professional, and well-organized dining environment. This role is responsible for verifying presentation and order accuracy before bringing meals to tables and guests, ensuring every dish meets quality standards.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Greet guests with a warm and friendly demeanor and escort them to their tables
- Provide menus and share basic restaurant information or specials when appropriate
- Monitor table turnover and manage waitlists or reservations if applicable
- Maintain a professional appearance and a welcoming front-of-house presence
- Communicate guest needs to serving staff or management as needed
- Deliver food and beverages to tables and guests accurately and promptly
- Ensure correct presentation of dishes before they leave the kitchen
- Confirm table numbers and special requests (e.g. allergies, modifications) before serving
- Assist servers with clearing and resetting tables, refilling water glasses, and responding to guest requests
- Return soiled dishes to the kitchen and assist with light kitchen duties when required
- Ensure guest and kitchen areas are clean, tidy, and safe throughout service
- Assist with light cleaning tasks such as wiping surfaces, sweeping, or restocking supplies
- Inspect dining areas and service stations regularly for cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health and safety standards
- Work closely with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations
- Complete all duties within assigned timelines, adapting to the flow of service
- Attend mandatory training sessions and assist other departments when required by operational needs
Key Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work well independently and within a team
- Able to handle high-pressure and fast-paced environments with professionalism
- Comfortable with repetitive lifting (up to 45 lbs / 20.4 kg) and standing for long periods
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Commitment to providing outstanding guest service
- Able to complete physically demanding duties as required
- Safe Food Handling Certificate (REG 493) is an asset
- Bilingualism is considered an asset

- Approachable, empathetic, and customer-focused
- Must be flexible with scheduling – including evenings, weekends, holidays, and shift coverage
- Must provide your own uniform in compliance with Chicopee’s uniform policy
