We’re seeking a Business Intelligence Associate to join our team and help transform data into actionable insights that drive performance and strategic initiatives. In this role, you’ll execute data analysis projects, develop visualizations, and apply analytics to enable stakeholders to make informed decisions. You’ll collaborate across the organization, advising on best practices and supporting projects that enhance business outcomes. Ideal candidates have a degree in analytics or a related field, strong problem-solving skills, familiarity with tools like Power BI or Tableau, and excellent communication abilities.

  • Build and maintain scalable, reliable data sources as the organization’s “source of truth.”

  • Create dashboards and reports that align with business needs and enable data-driven decisions.

  • Partner with teams to execute analytics projects and apply best practices for solving business problems.

  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with governance policies across departments.

  • 0-2 years’ experience in a business intelligence or data analyst role, preferably in the manufacturing industry.

  • Post-secondary education in Data Analytics, Information Management, Math & Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or similar discipline.

  • Certificates or diplomas in the data & analytics fields are also to be considered.

  • Familiar with database fundamentals and writing basic SQL code to query relational databases.

  • Knowledgeable with data visualization software and best practices, Tableau preferred.

  • Comfortable with data analysis, modeling, and profiling and corresponding software, preferably Alteryx.

  • Confident communicating clearly and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Experience translating business problems to data solutions to enable data driven decision making.

  • Comfortable creating improvement solutions and ideas to resolve business problems.

Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Please note this position requires a full-time, in-office presence.
