Senior Manager, ICAAP
As Senior Manager, ICAAP & Enterprise Risk, you will act as a strategic
leader, responsible for developing, implementing, and enhancing core risk
management components within the ICAAP framework in accordance with OSFI
Guideline E-19. You will have a direct impact on the organization through your
expertise in risk management, capital planning, and governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and execution of risk identification and assessment processes to support ICAAP, ensuring alignment with OSFI expectations and the Bank’s risk management principles.
- Coordinate with capital management, stress testing, modelling, Internal Audit, and core risk functions to integrate risk assessments into the ICAAP, capital plans and stress testing scenarios.
- Ensure the ICAAP framework covers all material risks, including operational and non-regulatory risks.
- Draft and update ICAAP documentation, including risk assessments and governance structures, to meet OSFI and internal requirements.
- Present ICAAP results and recommendations to senior management and the Board, highlighting material risks and risk appetite considerations.
- Guide the evolution of the enterprise risk register and emerging risk identification processes, integrating these into ICAAP.
- Be the risk lead on the Bank’s three-year project plan to enhance its ICAAP.
Team Structure
- Lead two new team members dedicated to ICAAP enhancement.
- Team focus is on risk appetite and risk reporting, with a vision to integrate processes, cross-train, and leverage opportunities to work across adjacent risk functions.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Management, Finance, or related field.
- Advanced diploma or certification in risk management is an asset.
- 7–10 years in risk management or regulatory compliance in the financial sector.
- Proven ICAAP experience in the financial industry (banking or insurance).
- Experience in other banks or financial institutions is highly valued.
- Proficiency in ICAAP principles, OSFI Guideline E-19, and strategic risk management frameworks.
- Leadership and stakeholder engagement.
- Mastery of governance, documentation, and regulatory reporting.
- Ability to influence and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Analytical and innovative mindset.
- Diligence and attention to detail.
- Caring leadership and talent development.
- Advanced proficiency in risk management systems, data analysis tools, and MS Office suite.
