About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our client's dynamic engineering team in Kitchener, ON region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and analysis of mechanical systems, components, and equipment.
  • Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and documentation.
  • Manage projects, timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful delivery.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, civil, and manufacturing engineers.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
  • Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and safety regulations.
  • Liaise with clients, vendors, and contractors to gather requirements and resolve issues.
  • Review and approve engineering calculations, reports, and documentation.
  • Support testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems on-site.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience in design and consulting for complex fire alarm and electrical systems in a variety of industry sectors including multi-unit residential, healthcare, commercial, industrial, and institutional.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) license or eligibility is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, piping, pressure vessels, rotating equipment, or other mechanical systems.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
