We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Tableau Developer and Data Visualization Specialist to join our growing data team. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining interactive and insightful dashboards in Tableau, coupled with strong proficiency in backend data technologies such such as Big Data platforms, Hive, and Impala. This role is crucial in transforming complex datasets into actionable visual insights that drive strategic business decisions. Experience with ETL processes will be considered a significant advantage.
Responsibilities:

Tableau Development:
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and intuitive Tableau dashboards and reports to meet various business requirements.
- Create compelling and effective data visualizations that clearly communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends.
- Optimize Tableau workbooks and data sources for performance, efficiency, and usability.
- Implement best practices for Tableau dashboard design, data governance, security, and version control.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, prototype solutions, and iterate on designs.
- Provide expertise in Tableau Server administration, including user management, permissions, and performance monitoring.

Backend Data Engineering:
- Work extensively with large and complex datasets residing in Big Data environments (e.g., Hadoop ecosystem).
- Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot queries using Hive and Impala to extract, transform, and load data for reporting and analysis purposes.
- Understand data models and schemas within various data sources to ensure accurate and efficient data extraction.
- Collaborate with data engineers and architects to ensure data availability, quality, and optimal structure for reporting.

Data Analysis & Problem Solving:
- Perform in-depth data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and insights.
- Troubleshoot data discrepancies and ensure data accuracy across all reports and dashboards.
- Proactively identify opportunities for data improvement and new visualization solutions.

Collaboration & Communication:
- Act as a subject matter expert for data visualization and BI tools.
- Communicate complex technical concepts and findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business teams to deliver comprehensive BI solutions.

[Good to have] ETL Knowledge:
- Familiarity with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) concepts and tools.
- Ability to understand and contribute to the design of data pipelines, even if not directly developing them.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL) for data manipulation and automation.
Required Qualifications:

Experience:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in business intelligence and data visualization, with a strong focus on Tableau development.
- Demonstrable expertise in designing and developing complex, high-performance Tableau dashboards and reports.
- Proven experience working with Big Data environments and querying large datasets.
- Expert-level proficiency in SQL, specifically with Hive and Impala.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and ETL principles.
- Experience with performance tuning of Tableau dashboards and underlying data queries.

- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
